This is about my Grand Mother (Ruth) and her leaving. She's been living with us for 5 years and Mom said it was time for her to go back to Maryland.
So, Aunt Evelyn flew down Thursday to Fort Myers, dad picked her up and shocked the heck out of my Grand mom - Aunt Evelyn was driving her back to Maryland with her car fully loaded.
I have to say my parents did a lot for her in the past 5 years. She came down in 2004 just in time for Hurricane Charley to rip apart some of the house. We took her to California to see and be on the Price is Right, something she's always wanted to do you know see Bob Barker, took her to see the Grand Cannon, Hoover Dam - Vegas, 3 7 night cruises and more.
It's not going to be hard on my anyone, because in Maryland grand mom has 2 daughters and 2 sons so she has 4 other children, 9 Grand Children and about 6 Great Grand Children and a set of twin Greats on the way - she has 4 sisters and a brother as well, all living in Maryland. I think Grand mom is going to have a better life now, because she will fit right in as Mom would say. You know Aunt Evelyn is her FAVORITE, she would tell my Mom to her face that she is.
Anyway, here is Grand mom and me with our last hug for now.
and this is Aunt Evelyn with me and my grand mom.
Mom hates this look, as Grand mom hasn't been around smoke in years expect for when she visits. Isn't' this is a horrible look? Aunt Evelyn couldn't wait to get in GM's car and light that thing up. So much for a nice smelling car all the way home.
Right behind Aunt Evelyn, came my Uncle Jamie and cousin Joey. They both drove straight down just for her furniture and were driving right back up. Joey said his butt hurt so bad and that he was sweating in places he never sweat before. Joey is 25 years old already. He's the only one of my cousins that have ever bought me something - he gave GM a Wii game when she was in Maryland last year visiting for my birthday - it was a Batman Wii game.
This is my Mom's younger brother Uncle Jamie with me. Mom of course wanted a picture of her with her brother and nephew. You know my mom is so right on so many things. They came all the way to Florida with no camera - they never once took any pictures of us together.
