Mrs. Angie's house...

My parents had a Christian Ed meeting to attend at Mrs. Angie's house and I got to play with her kids. She has 3 children Anna 12, Grace 10 and Reed 8. She is my Mom's favorite school principle at a different school. They were discussing the VBS program taking place next month at Church.

"Transformers"

Mom and I went to the movies today to see "Transformers", it was a pretty good movie. Mom wasn't so sure about it, but she did say it was pretty good for something she doesn't get into

And on this very day as well. An true Angel name Farrah Fawcett passed away at the age of 62 and followed by her death was the King of Pop - "Michael Jackson"..very sad day for most of us.

A Hershey's mess....

Oh my gosh was this ever so funny. The 3 kids are in the pool and Meghan is yelling Aunt Sherri do you have any chocolate? I went outside to see what she wanted and she repeated herself by saying Aunt Sherri do you have any chocolate, she just wanted some then the other two thought yeah that a good idea. Of course I said wait, I think I just may have what you need, I will be right back! They saw me coming out with my Hershey's bottle of syrup and laughed. I said now open up wide and stay in the pool. I stood up and hung over each of them squirting it into their mouths. Oh my gosh I just loved it, now i'm not so sure Aunt Chrisann their Mother liked it, but she knows how I am. I'm a bad influence when it comes to stuff like that.

Trip to T.R.U.

Sam, and I took another trip to Toys R Us this morning. His birthday is next month and he's thinking about what he wants. I finally talked him into asking for either gift cards or money for his birthday and that way he can buy what he wants. So, he had his pencil and paper with him and he wrote all the information down himself.

I mention to him that we were not doing a birthday party this year, because he doesn't need one every year. He thought at that point how will he get presents. I said we call your Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles and you tell them. This way it saves them in shipping cost.

He never really liked money for his birthday, but he's getting older now and understand the way money really works and thought that was a great idea. Sam was just too cute talking to Grand Pris on the phone. He said this is how much they cost, one is $32., one is $50., and the other is $62.. I told him that Grandmom may not send you money for all of them, but she will send you something.

Beach day, just me and Mom

Mom and I went to Siesta Key beach this morning. She said she wanted to leave early at 7:30a and we were out of the house at 7:23. Traffic was good and the beach was empty. It was beautiful out this morning. I think Mom is getting more use to being at the beach again. She loves that beach because the sand is so pure soft and white.

Sam's mission to find this...

Oh my goodness what a story behind this LEGO!! Last night Sam told me that he wanted a particular Lego and it was this, the one that is pictured for his birthday. How it all started was I ask Sam if he could have one thing for his birthday what would he want? This was it! So, we looked on line to get an idea of how much this thing cost, because for those of you who have gotten him Lego's in the past know they could be pretty costly.

So we began our search on line with Lego.com - and there it was, why wouldn't it not be. So, then again It wouldn't show the price of it, so I act as if I was going to order it to see and this is the message we got:

MX-81 Hypersonic Operations AircraftItem #: 7644
Sorry, item is not available in this country: United States.

We were amazed that it wasn't available...so before Sam went to bed, he was completely all bent out of shape and started to blame me for them not having it. I was like what? He only wanted about 8 different lego's for Christmas and we were not about to buy him that many lego's at the prices they were. So, I made phones calls to his Grandparents telling them just what he wanted, he ended up with 6 I think and he choose the ones he wanted.

So I promised him last night that we would head out in the morning and locate it, because I find it hard to believe it wasn't around. I also told him that if we found it don't think I'm buying it today. I had to make myself clear on that - if we found it it would be a birthday gift and not a gift today.
1st stop at 8:30am walmart around the corner from us - nothing, 2nd stop kmart - nothing, 3rd stop target - again nothing, then we went over to toys are us, they were closed but opened at 10am. My gosh I'm thinking we have 45 minutes - Sam spotted another walmart, we went there - nothing. So to kill time we went over to the mall and walked for 20 minutes, then we headed over to toys are us! We walked in and lord and behold Sam run and said Mom there it is. I be gosh darn I was thinking, but praying the whole time. They had 5 on the shelf. Sam, wanted that lego in such a bad way I continue to remind him we were not buying that today. He's so worried that they will sell them all, Mom stuck to her guns and did not buy it. I said Sam i'm sorry but if it's a birthday gift I can't buy that while your with me. He said when then Mom - I said when your not with me, like maybe one weekend when your with your Dad, ok Mom this weekend....oh my gosh, this lego is driving me up the wall.

enjoying this time off.....

Sam, is enjoying his time off of school. He was up at 7am, my goodness I wish he sleep in just a little, but his Mom was up at 6:20. He's been playing with his DS in his room, swimming in the pool and catching a few cartoons on TV so far. Check out the last picture, it's pretty funny we laughed for a long time over that picture. It almost appears that he is melting in the water, click on the image to get a bigger view.

FCAT picture

I decided to take one of my nice frames I had some family pictures in, take that down and put this up for Sam. He had no idea I did it and when he said it, he really liked it and said thanks Mom, I like that.

Last day of school.....

This morning was very hard for me, I was kind of expecting this to happen but I wasn't sure it would. Some teachers want to be with their kids by themselves on the last day of school. I walked in with Sam and Mrs. W looked at me and said Mrs. J I'm very sorry, I have nothing for you to do today and to be honest with you, I want to be with the kids by myself. I understood completely, hey I thought it would happen and it did. So, after she said that I gave her an article like newspaper clipping that I made this morning of the pictures I took yesterday, turned it into a paper article, and I gave her the sheets for cubes for each child, she just loved it!!

So, I left got in my car and I was in tears...now that I'm typing this the tears are starting again. It's sad for me knowing that I have been there volunteering all year round and I just wanted to say good-bye to each child and give them a hug. That didn't happen. So many of them just loved me, I got hugs each time I walked in the door and they would ask Mrs. J________ are you staying, when I said yes they would get all excited. I'm going to miss about 1/2 of them for sure and I hope some are back in his class next year.

So I went home and just cleaned my house, ended up doing 3 rooms, vacuumed, dusted, mopped and sweep, even did 3 loads of laundry. Took me about 3 hours in all then I stopped at about 11:40p. I decided to call Sam's teacher to let her know that I was taking him out early and that I would be there at 12:30 - he normally gets out at 1:45 I told her to have a great summer. I picked Sam up and this is the picture I got. But I had to run to the car to get the camera as I told him to stand there and wait.

Here comes my boy, so grown up and with a smile! When I look at this picture I'm looking at my now new 4th grade student. While crying, Sam ask why I was doing that. I told him my baby is growing up way to fast for me and that you are officially a 4th grader.

this is what I was doing till 11:30 last night for each child in Sam's class.

cut it out and we have a picture cube...pictures taken by me during the year.

Sam, brought a big card home for me and all the kids signed it thanking me for the class video I made and the picture/cubes....again I had tears in my eyes. Nothing like taking your child to DQ for a blizzard and having red eyes. I owned Sam that blizzard for making the A honor roll.

FCAT scores are in....finally

Here Sam sits with Mrs. Wolfahrt as she made the announcement to the children this morning that the scores were in and she was going to explain their grade and how this works so that their parents would know. When she called Sam - she called me as well. I'm glad I had my camera for this moment. Like I said in a previous post I found out what he scored, but I never told Sam. He scored a 4 in reading and a 4 in math. The highest FCAT score you can get is a 5 and the lowest is a 1 with repeating the 3rd grade. I know Sam wasn't anywhere close to a 1 or 2, I was hoping for a 3 or 4, but I wasn't so sure about the 5, but I'm very happy. Our little guy is very bright and I'm PROUD of him.

this was my last school picture of his class minus one.

The Terrible, no fun, dull, agresive day, by: Sam

I wanted to share this cute story with you that Sam wrote a while back in school. He came home with tons of work that he had done throughout the year and of course i'm saving only the cute fun stuff. He wrote this based on a book that his teacher read to the class and everyone had to come up with their own story. The second picture got cut off so I wrote in what he had said. If, you click on each picture it will get bigger that way you will be able to read it. This is Sam's story...

know about it. But all I found was a piece of

Big Day!!!

Today, was another big day in the life of Sam J and his accomplishments at school. There was an award ceremony going on and this was the biggest one yet for 3rd grade. Being that Sam brought home his midterm report just a few weeks ago with all A's except this time a B in reading, ended up being on the "A Honor Roll", wow - Sam was a little worried at first because he's been sitting so patiently waiting to see if he got an award. When his teacher was nominated to go up on stage and read all the 3rd graders awards out and didn't call Sam's name on the B Honor Roll, I knew he made the A honor roll. My heart was beating so fast for him. By the time he got up on stage to accept that award I got a really good picture of the principle but Sam came out bury, what a horrible picture that was. I wanted to post it, but I'm not a big fan of the principle so I didn't want to post her face on his blog. That I waited till after we got home to take a picture. So anyway - he ended up with another one this was for "Certificate of Achievement" and a ribbon came with it. It was for his hard work and dedication that has lead to an exceptional achievement.

Sam's personal achievement this year was to earn his AR shirt as he has never done before. After he earned the points he needed to get that shirt, he set out a personal goal to earn 100 points, and if he got that he was going to get a new Wii game, did he do it? YES HE DID!!! He ended up with total of 100.3...way to go Sam. He's done very well in the 3rd grade, he appeared to be more focused in the 3rd grade. His FCAT scores came in as I haven't been giving that information from the school yet, but found out our boy scored a 4 in reading and a 4 in math being 5 is the highest number you can get.

Congratulations!!! goes out to Sam J.

Love, Mom and his 2 Dad's.
