Last day of school....and sad good-byes

Well, this is the very last day of the official school year of 2010/2011. Ms. Lynch invited me in today to help with her party at the end of the day. I was able to capture yet a few more pictures of Sam with his teacher before we leave the school. She gave him a few awards with the class and were to do them without parents, but she loves me and waited for me to get there....sweet lady!

I promised the children that we were in charge of during the Epcot trip and DVD of all the pictures I took of them and I delivered my promise to 6 children. On top of that I made a small DVD of the ceremony and luncheon from Monday for Ms. L...she showed it to the children, along with the one from Epcot. It was a very nice couple of hours. Sam, and I gave Ms. L and bag full of tupperware, a gift of a life time I told her and every time she uses her measuring spoons/cup, water bottle etc....etc...etc...she will always remember Sam.

Sam, just received his B honor roll award!

And both Sam, and Matt received a pin for 2nd semester safety patrol.

Mrs. Bourne signed Sam's year book!

Ms. Lynch posing with Sam's AR shirt - the only child in class to earn one.

Ms. Lynch (Sam's last teacher in Elementary) Sam, and Mrs. Bourne (his very 1st teacher)...it was so nice that Mrs. Bourne came to class to say good-bye to Sam and Seth as both boys were in her Pre-K class together. She actually had me crying.

Beautiful coffee mugs Ms. Lynch gave to myself and Todd...thank you so much - we LOVE THEM!! And the writing on it is awesome!! Something to always remember for sure.

This is the beautiful memorable scrapbook Ms. Lynch made for each child...showing just a few pages.

video to follow this post later....so if you looking at it now, come back tomorrow as it's going to take a while to post. I just wanted this posted today....and remember this is our very last post on this blog. During the Summer I will have to come up with something completely different and new for the next Chapter in the Life of Sam.

Sam's Fifth Grade Graduation 2011

Today, was Sam's big day - and a brand new beginning as he exits Elementary school and moves onto Jr. High - our little guy is growing up. People out there who have little ones, please cheeriest every single day of your child's life, because time does go by in a flash, a heart beat, right before your eyes. Sam's only 10 years old, but those 10 small years FLEW by! I remember day one oh so well, when he started Pre-K onto Kindergarten and now 5th grade. He's leaving Elementary school on Wed May 25th, 2011 - his very last day of school.

If, you are a stay at home Mom - volunteer as much time as you can in their early years, because if you don't, your going to wish you did! I volunteered so much of my time to his school that I felt like a piece of the furniture. And being that I did, I was able to shoot pictures of his entire life at DCES, I made video's tape for each teacher at the end of the year with all the kids in it...I guess you can say I was the paparazzi. As I sit here typing this, I have tears flowing down my face. It's hard seeing your babies grow into young people, then adults, but i'm far from him being an adult - but guess what? Eight years is nothing, before I know it he will be driving, dating, graduating from College, then getting married someday.

From my heart, I'm going to miss his elementary years more then anything. I here as they step into a new chapter of there life, parents don't get to see them accepting awards in Jr. High, what am I to do, but let go - and he's only 10, i'm just not emotionally ready.

So, with that said - lets move onto the pictures and what we're seeing and viewing.
This is the cafeteria where everything took place. As you can see by the first photo, there is a STAR for every fifth grader in school. As heart warming as it was, it was beautifully done.

I located Sam's star and get this, like Uncle Tony said, i'm the only one that will find something wrong...and I did. Sam's star was sideways, his name anyway and upside down, are you kidding me! Good thing the principle was in there as she heard me telling a few parents being Uncle Tony and Aunt Kathy and what did Mrs. C do? You bet your lucky stars she took it down and fixed it. Of all the stars - Sam was like that...NOT! But as you can see he has an extra hole in his!

there sits our handsome boy!! Ms. Lynch sat right next to him.

let the SHOW begin!!

Sam, received 5 awards and this is what he earned in his Fifth grade year:
1. LIBRARY AWARD
2. READERS are LEADERS AWARD, for earning his 200 AR points
3. Certificate of ACHIEVEMENT - I believe it was for making the A/B honor roll all year. The 2nd and 3rd quarter he was straight A
4. PRESIDENTS'S EDUCATION AWARDS PROGRAM in recognition of Outstanding Academic Excellence and a GOLD pin. The award was signed by Obama
5. and his CERTIFICATE OF PROMTION - for successful completion of studies at Deep Creek Elementary School

and that had to be the happiest day in our lives as Parents to see Sam expect his awards with PRIDE and smiling the whole time. In order to heard the video's - please go to the bottom of the blog and put the music on mute!! To view the photo bigger, just click on it!

Sam with Ms. Lynch - I personally think she's the BEST TEACHER EVER and that's why she was Teacher of the YEAR 2009/2010

Receiving his Certificate of ACHIEVEMENT award...

Receiving his President's Education Awards Program for Outstanding Academic Excellence signed by Obama. With that he even received a GOLD pin!!

The Ceremony - I recorded the entire class. I will tell you a little secret - I CRIED, seeing my little man up there on that stage, wrapping his arms around his teacher and accepting his Promotion award!

Sam's Presidential Gold pin!!

Kaitlyn and Sam both this their Graduation Bears we got them! Kaitlyn, loved her's more then Sam because boys don't play with bears according to him. It's just a token from being a Cub at DCES!! Each bear had on the back 2011 and their name!

The Luncheon!! After the award ceremony ended, a few of us parents hung around to now decorate for their luncheon. They were all so surprised - the smiles on each of their faces while they walked through the door and under the arch! I did record each class as they came in, but i'm not posting it due to this is about Sam...

The Graduates

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting Sam's blog, remember Wedn is the last day of school and what pictures I take there will also be posted. After that - this blog is coming to and end as we start a NEW CHAPTER in the LIFE of SAM! Wow, that sounds like nice blog name for next chapter!!! Please if you like, leave Sam and comment just under this post. I will print this blog out for him and gave it to him when he's a grown adult. It's a wonderful keep sack of his life growing up. And I will also be sure all comments go into his binder...thanks again!!

BBBB

(Friday - May 20th, 2011) 1:30pm

The BBBB stands for Big Bucket BQQk Bash! Sam's last one at DCES. I'm sad to say I was all excited when Sam came home on Thursday and told me he and Matt where going to slim the principle I was there with camera in hand.

But, wait a minute - the rules have changed after 6 years!! They called on the top 2 readers in each grade level and their names were going into a drawing to determined who was doing the sliming. The BBBB is based on those children who earned the amounted points and in 5th - the children were to earn 200 AR points, Sam has 213 and one of the other kids in his class didn't even make the 200 mark, what? Go, figure the other boy got to slim the principle, where in the hell is the fairness in that? Just not right - then to top that off - Sam should be getting on Monday his AR shirt as an award, but he came home with it on Friday, why? I ask myself!

So, here are a few photos, I did take a few videos - but i'm sure there going to take forever to download.

Sam, may lQQk a little down in these pictures - and he is, he heard on the news before even leaving for school that the world was coming to an end on May 21st, 2011 - he was so upset - his teacher had me bring him home for an hour.

touring PGMS

What an excited evening this turned out to be. Sam, and all the 5th graders from around Charoltte Co who were attending PGMS this year, had a tour and some instruction on what to expect. Poor Sam fell asleep before we even got to the school.

We found out this school is very well locked down, no one can get in and no one can get out. Parents have to come to the main entrance to get in and they have 180 security cameras on campus.

It's a brand new school, the one old was ripped apart by Hurricane Charley in Aug of 2004 the year Sam started Pre-K. And now he gets to attend this beautiful school for the next 3 years come Aug.

this is one of the classrooms, check out those desk!

this is my favorite room period, it's a math room. The teacher said if your not a Steelers fan, then you don't get a A!!!

3 stories high, that's right....6th grade on the first floor, 7th on the second and 8th on the third.

Brooke and Amy - I haven't seem them in over 5 years, the last time I saw the two of them, Brooke was playing with Sam in kindergarten. After Kindergarten Amy got a job in another school and switched her children there. But now she's attending PGMS...I was so excited to see them both. I hope to stay connected this time around.

and we spoke to our resorce officer on the way out...Cpl. Priffle something like that.
